Imihigo

Synopsis

In the modern Rwandese society, three characters from different backgrounds are enrolled in a program called Imihigo, a program which could be described as a “development national competition.” Richard, the mayor, has one year to achieve around a hundred goals concerning his district. Damascène, the bus driver, oversees the implementation of social programs in his rural village. In the meantime, Keza, a Belgian-Rwandan civil servant, tries to adapt her western idealism to the concrete realities of her native country.

Following during a year the journey our protagonists within this emerging African society, the film portrays implicitly a resurrected country 26 years after Rwandan genocide.
