Synopsis
USM portrays four Belgian-Moroccan filmmakers in their thirties. Since adolescence, and with incredible enthusiasm, they have managed to produce over thirty low-budget movies in which they themselves have played the main characters. Their movies are the sum of their fears and desires; they are also a way of projecting an image of themselves for the benefit of their own community and the outside world.
A fictional story about four secret agents, alternating with footage from their last feature-length movie, will serve as the prism through which we view their lives in the real world - as if their real lives were a cover for their fictional lives as secret agents. USM will see these heroes of everyday life enter into a dialogue with the fictional big screen characters. Will they manage to juggle their multiple roles and lives succesfully, and to combine the work and family with their dream of becoming professional filmmakers?
